Bio
After graduating in 2014, I started my first official job as a graphic designer in the rural area of Hadeland, just an hour outside Oslo. Here, I picked up valuable skills in media and design that, while perhaps not as common today, have shaped my approach to design. Much of my work focused on editorial design and layout, creating books, magazines, and exhibition materials. I also helped small businesses build their first websites. I also took on a side gig, teaching typography for a couple of semesters at NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology ) Gjøvik, where I taught students about typographic hierarchy, the anatomy of a book, and design layouts. I learned how printed materials could be viewed as unique, something that was once more highly prioritized but is now often overlooked. I witnessed the decline of print work and the challenge of keeping a small graphic and print production business afloat in a tiny community.
After three years in Hadeland—which ironically translates to “Goodbye Land” in Norwegian—I was more than ready to leave the rural setting for city life again. I returned to Bergen, where I’d earned my Master’s, and co-founded Studio Boi with my former classmates, Henriette Hukset and Stine Berg. We focused on projects mainly in the culture and music industries, which gave me invaluable insight into the creative process of the artist’s world and the day-to-day realities of running a small, hands-on studio.
The next chapter took me to Cure, where I joined Brage Brenna-Lund and Bendik Bergh in their fast-paced studio. Working with clients in fields like AI, sea tech, architecture, tourism, and education was a refreshing change, adding a more business-focused approach to our projects. Cure’s bold “no cure, no pay” model—where clients only paid if they were satisfied—kept us on our toes, always delivering top-quality work.During my time there, I sharpened my skills in digital design, website creation, and front-end development, launching a wide range of projects. It was a crash course in adaptability and variety. While much of it happened during lockdown (so I missed out on plenty of Friday beers!), it was an invaluable period of growth I’m incredibly grateful for.
Fast forward to 2022, I made the leap across the Atlantic to the U.S. After settling in and getting my work permit, I joined Realvision, a fintech media company, as a Product Designer/Experience Designer. It was my first real experience with American work culture. But, like so many others in recent years, I faced a layoff after just 10 months.
On top of my design work, I co-founded PROOF Running Co., a running apparel brand based in NYC, with Marco Moreno. At PROOF, we focus on creating gear that feels personal and unique to every runner. We’re passionate about using design to enhance the brand experience. But PROOF is more than just apparel—it’s a community. We host events, celebrate individual achievements, and inspire runners to keep pushing their limits.
